Is Email more reliable than phone?

When you are making first contact with a client is is better to use e mail or phone them directly?

Which do you use and why?

Which method have you found to be more effective and lead to a hire conversion rate?

I would personally recommend the phone as you have a better chance to get ahold of who your trying to reach. Also there can not be a misunderstanding where with email there can be a misunderstanding if the email gets opened. A lot of the time the email will never even get opened. so this is why I really recommend the phone.

Re: Is Email more reliable than phone?

For me it depends on your marketing skills. Where are you more effective? communications by phone or thru email?

If you mean by phone (cold calling), a lot of people don't like that (well including me). However, if I find the caller as pleasant and interesting to talk to then I will engage him/her to talk more but if not, I'll just say that I'm really busy and not encourage him/her to call again.

On the other hand, as a customer I like to receive promotions via email than phone, however, like what bestbook123 said that a lot of emails have a chance of never getting opened and that's quite true. So you really need a good copywriter that's expert in making interesting email titles and sales letters to be effective in email marketing.

For me email marketing has always been effective than phone.

Re: Is Email more reliable than phone?

In our country email marketing is not so popular. They just make a call on cell phone using some numbers which is consists of 3 or 4 digit. And you know what when I receive those calls they just they just deduct money from my cellphone balance. So I don't receive those calls now.

I am very regular at checking emails. So any one sends me email will be checked for sure.

Re: Is Email more reliable than phone?

When I am being contacted I ignore most emails. The only reason I even read them at all is because most people who contact us use our web form so I think it might be a customer.

The vast majority of emails I get don't even get my attention. Occasionally I will get a gem which pulls me in and if I am in need of their service makes me consider it.

Phone calls on the other hand get my attention easier but once again the vast majority suck at it.

Takeaway: Do whichever you can do best. If you produce quality copy or script you will be ahead of the vast majority. That said phone is normally better but if you are a written superstar and suck on the phone using email and direct mail will be better for you. Play to your strengths.

I think that mailing is a great way of marketing and more reliable than phone calling. Because by calling you get lots of “no”s, you get stuck on, you’re disturbing people’s routine and their day, they’re irritated by you. I think it is not the maximum and most effective using your time.

I think if someone use direct mail marketing, he/she can send sales message, promotion and ad to a specific customer. If he is suit for their demands, they grab the phone and get in touch with him. It also enables the customer to make a final decision in their own time.

The customer is raising their hand, informing you they require what you have to offer. What do you think guys? Please share your opinion guys.

Indeed, a cell phone is more reliable. I mean, if you implement mobile phone spy you'll be absolutely sure about everything happening with it. You'll know everything happening with your employees, you'll find out if someone cheats and so on.
