    How to recover deleted files in linux

    Dear all,

    Accidently i have deleted the ram.conf file in the directory /opt and i want to recover the deleted file ram.conf in /opt directory and followed the below website link to recover my file but i was not able to recover

    Look in your trash, providing you didn't empty your trash.

    You'll see the interface beneath: PhotoRec Data Recovery Tool for Linux. Select Partition to Proceed File Recovery. Linux File Recovery Options. Determine Recovery File Type. Spare File Recovery Settings. Select Filesystem to Recover Deleted Files. Pick Filesystem to Analyze. Select Directory to Save Recovered Files.

    Save File Recovery Settings.

    Recover files based on filetype using PhotoRec
    Install TestDisk from the Ubuntu Software Center. sudo apt-get install testdisk.
    Launch PhotoRec. Open a terminal and launch photorec (as root). ...
    Select hard disk.
    Select partition type. ...
    Select filetype option. ...
    Select options. ...
    Select partition. ...
    Select filesystem type.
