    Online vs Offline Marketing

Marketing essentially comprises of two alternatives : online and offline Marketing. Both of these are exceptionally powerful method for increasing your business however you need to pick the particular case that is ideal for you.

Online Marketing is everything that is done online and includes social media, seo, website content, pay per click, online advertising, email campaigns and blogging.

Offline Marketing on the other hand is not internet based and would include physical advertising in newspapers and magazines, direct mail campaigns, trade fairs, networking and telesales.

The decision is yours and you will find what works for your business - some businesses benefit more from the online rather than the offline approaches with their marketing.

If no one knows you are out there how is your business going to survive?

    Re: Online vs Offline Marketing

One important point from my own experience I'd like to share is that the knowledge and skills from one don't seem to transfer well over to the other.

I am in my 18th year of work post-university, and my career as a corporate manager did not help a whole lot when it came to making money online.

While process engineering is a big part of that background, and is important, it doesn't matter in the "early game" of online marketing.

Online marketing in the startup/let's make our first dollar phase is a sloppy affair. Knowing how to set up a funnel really doesn't matter a whole lot. Only later on, when you're working to make a scaleable, repeatable process does a more "professional" approach make any difference.

It depends on the kind of business you run. If your business is a local store that only serves people in a very small area, then you probably want to focus on offline local marketing, but if you plan on selling things worldwide or at least state wide, then you really need online marketing.

Offline marketing refers to any type of marketing that does not involve online marketing (website, social media, email, pay-per-click, blogging, press releases). Effective offline marketing can be a great complement to your online marketing strategies: Cold calls, direct mail, flyers, print publications.
